Melancholia

So, summer

The long farewell begins

Cast a backward glance

As you are carried from me

Shorter days, darker days

Amber trees

As you fade with weeks, minutes

Drifting

I cling to your scent

Jasmine, lily, tomato leaf

Warm tar

Burnt rubber through metro grates

Sweat

Mine, musk heavy

Wet pavements

Sandstone dust

Curling pages of a book

Memories from summers past

So distant

Parched air

Peaches

Inhale

Farewell

Until next year
